One Voice Choir’s Lismore debut

Music lovers – a date for your diary. One Voice Richmond Valley Community Choir are making their debut appearance in Lismore on April 22nd at 2 pm in St Paul’s Presbyterian Church with a programme titled Songs of Praise and Devotion.

The choir was formed in 2005 and their first big performance was at the 75th Anniversary of the RAAF base at Evans Head in the presence of the Governor General Quentin Bryce.

A close relationship with the Co-Opera Company from SA has formed over the years and One Voice has provided extra chorus work for Co-Opera productions in Casino over the past 5 years.

In 2015 a 2-hour show called `Gallipoli 1915 –Over Here, Over There’ was written by a choir member –Jenny Strever – with original music by founder/conductor Patricia White. This received standing ovations at its three performances.

Over the years the choir has produced performances of varying styles, including `Songs from Stage and Screen’ and `From Ragtime to Rock’.

The concert in April is the choir’s first venture into the rich world of church music, and was very well received last year when given in Kyogle and Casino.

Also performing with the choir is trio `Decibella” previously known as Rainbow Harmony.

Tickets are $10 at the door and Afternoon Tea will be provided.
